Wonderful color and capture. Otto K. @ 2006-April-10 13:42
Lovley sharp image. Beautiful colour and detail. That creature is caked in pollen. mooch @ 2006-April-10 14:54
I always get nervous getting close to bees and wasps. Maybe it's because I don't have a tele. :) Phu @ 2006-April-10 18:44
Oops. I really like the blend of hot colors in this image. I would have like the abdomen of the bee and the flower stamen thing that it is perched on to be in more focused. That's just me. Great picture. Phu @ 2006-April-10 18:47
Danke für die Aufklärung :) Die Blumen sind da....jaaaaaa.:) Schönes Ding! Jens @ 2006-April-10 21:23

Fantastic Ella! Great yellow hue impact and softness of the lighter tones. The detail is exquisite as well, the hairs on this bee are well and truely lathered in pollin extract. ndiginiz @ 2006-April-11 00:22
Wonderful! First I love the color contrast. Nature is always perfect when setting up the color scheme. The detail on the bee with all of that pollen caked on it looks great! I have a phobia of bees, so I'll just enjoy them from here! :) Jazmin @ 2006-April-11 01:15
What a macro! And this bee sure has been busy, check the wads of collected pollen. ROB @ 2006-April-11 03:43
Wow. Great macro. That little guy's just loving that stuff! Heath @ 2006-April-11 10:03
Thank you guys!
@Phu: We don't have a macro tele either. This was done with the kitlens(!).
@ndiginiz: Yes, we also really like the yellow, and it wasn't enhanced at all. It actually was so saturated that I had to start with minimum contrast and neutral saturation; yet it still clipped.
@Jazmin: Well, I don't like the more nervous insects either, but imho bees are fine, they're almost reasonable ;) sknop @ 2006-April-11 10:26
Nice detail on the bee and great framing. Solid macro work. Regards, Brent Brent Vermilyea @ 2006-April-11 19:32
Beautiful shot, and also title... very good detail in the white. Idoru @ 2006-April-11 20:10
did you already send this picture to national geographic ? :-)
