This guide, which was lying between disused railroad tracks, was printed by an Austrian publisher in 1952. Looks like spreading the ideal of being thin isn't such a new business after all.
great capture. love the tones and compostion here. odd that such an old book is just dumped on the tracks. david @ 2006-April-7 11:17
That is just to show you that some things never change. I love the splash of color against the very textured background. :) Nice shot. Jazmin @ 2006-April-7 11:58
Lovely compostision. I like the contrast in this one guys. Good work. Jide Alakija @ 2006-April-7 12:05
Gute gesehen. Die Dinge passen doch gar nicht zusammen und trotzdem wirkt es hier so als wuerde alles so gehoeren. :) Jens @ 2006-April-7 22:05
That's actually quite a collector's item, wonder what it was doing there?
Very nice composition you made of this discarded guide. micki @ 2006-April-8 01:40

One eroded by nature and the other eroded eithin nature, great find of contrasting textures.
In NZ we use this type of stone for "Hangi", earthen oven cooking with hot rocks and steam. ndiginiz @ 2006-April-8 06:51
Quite a strange juxtaposition between the book and the rocks.. I'm intrigued by the content and title of the book. andy @ 2006-April-9 07:17
Great find. It's amazing that you've come across something that old just laying on the ground. Great find! David Kapp @ 2006-April-9 17:29
