Very creative and inspirational. The upside down element is another fantastic effect used to full potential. I'm not familiar with "tritones"? ndiginiz @ 2006-February-28 02:01
A tritone picture is a grayscale picture with two more tones added (in our case a light and a dark brown) to add chosen color back to the picture. Here is a tutorial about how to do this in Photoshop.
It is the digital darkroom equivalent of the sepia, selenium, copper, gold and blue toners that have been used for decades when processing film negatives. Ella @ 2006-February-28 18:02
Ironically I discovered how the properly use the gradient map tool from Photoshop today, which enables similar results in a much simpler and straight forward way (as adjustment layer!) than duo- or tritones. Nevertheless those are still better suited to prepare images to be printed with a reduced (yet selected) ink set. sknop @ 2006-February-28 22:48
