Once again we could not decide which version to post. This time I prefer the BW Version, while Ella likes this colored one a little bit better. Which one do you prefer?
I think this is a color subject - particularly as you have resolved such gentle and limited colors in the shot. As always, a very skillful blend of qualities. AG @ 2006-April-27 09:45
I prefer the coloured shot. I am not too keen on the cropping though. Think its too tight on the right.
Hi Ella!
I like BW photos but I think this swahn to be is more beautiful in colour and it looks like your other visitors agree. Great photo. Hope you will get a photo of it when it has become a snow wwhite swahn. Erik @ 2006-April-27 17:50
I love the mass of feathers and the overall kaos. Gordon @ 2006-April-27 18:06
I actully like both for different reasons. The BW one makes you focus more on the texture. But I like how this one shows all the variations on colors of the feathers. Yeah, that is no help I bet. Steve LLamb @ 2006-April-27 19:16
For this particular shot, I have to say I slightly prefer the colored version. Christine @ 2006-April-27 19:32
I normally lean towards the b&w verion of photos, but the color photo speaks to me much more then the b&w. Wonderful shot! bluemoon @ 2006-April-27 20:18
i have to go to the color version also.... so i agree with Ella. But the shot is beautifull! RensNL @ 2006-April-27 20:32
Hi Ella! I prefer the B&W version. It is a beautifol shot! [010design-photoblog] @ 2006-April-27 21:38
Another vote for color, and I tend to prefer B&W as well. Stephanie @ 2006-April-27 21:47
Hard to say. Their both great, but I think the B&W makes better contrast, and I would probably have put that one up.
Anyway, great shot and nice composition. thukai @ 2006-April-27 22:05
Color was the right choice here...nice shot. Justin Gaynor @ 2006-April-27 22:16
definitally the black and white one for me, although I do like the blue of the water... great capture JD @ 2006-April-28 00:27
I personally prefer this version, there is a more mood in the colours. I like the tones in it too and I think the black and white removes all that. Jide Alakija @ 2006-April-28 01:02
beautiful image. I like the colour version..cheers ;) dave @ 2006-April-28 03:25
I go for the colour one. Is this a wild swan? The
(famous) swans of Bruges are invisible these days because of the flu... hans @ 2006-April-28 08:23
Awesome shot... love the soft processing you did. Nice work Brandon Crain @ 2006-April-28 15:54
Beautiful. I like the color one. Brian @ 2006-April-30 02:48
Hehe ok ok, I'm now also prefering the colored version. Funny thing is that the morning I processed this picture I was in a B&W mood, almost all pictures I was clicking through seemed sooo much better in B&W, rather unusual for me. I guess it was a reaction to all the glaring lights on the fair we went to the night before.
@Hans: Yes, this is a wild swan I guess, south germany seems to not have been affected by the flu yet.
Thanks for all the comments! sknop @ 2006-April-30 15:41
I must say I love the colored version. There is a richness and depth found in the creams and browns of the bird that is lost in the bw. :) Beautiful capture! Jazmin @ 2006-May-1 06:50
