Ella's beloved rubber tree was slightly injured when we moved to Stuttgart (Germany) at the end of 2004. As with humans, the wound healed, but turned into a clearly visible scar. The vibrant colors are not courtesy of Photoshop but afternoon sunlight (object was backlit).
Yesterday the question came up: Two people running a blog, who does what?
Until now the pictures were taken by me unless otherwise noted. Nevertheless many opportunities are spotted by Ella. Often we both take a similar shot, deciding later on which picture to process. I also handle Photoshop. Still the processing is a collaborative experience, because we decide together on the crop, the level adjustments and the steps that might create the special look of a picture, i.e. gradient maps or cross-processing. For some photographs, these 'roles' might be exactly reversed :-).
In any case it is always the both of us that agree to put a picture up. We think the end result is what counts and by the time a picture is ready to be uploaded we have mostly forgotten what was whose idea. If someone has questions regarding a specific picture, don't hesitate to ask. This particular picture was Ella's idea and the shot that we finally put up was one of mine.
