This is Ella's experiment, which she processed while I was at University learning about the wonders of computer animation and sound design. It reminds us of the classic bamboo Sumi-e ink brush drawings, although both the bamboo and the texture used here are photos we shot a while ago. The bamboo picture was taken in the Chinese Garden in Stuttgart and the texture is the scratched interior of a junk press used to compress cars.
On a sidenote: A deeply felt 'Thank you' to Stephen Colbert: His speech has been amusing us for days now :-)!
nicely made image! ... i am a huge fan of chinese & japanese art (& other stuff!), & this to me captures the essence of beauty & simplicity with great ease & skill! ... as a result, i would have to say that i love this!!

I find this needs to be viewed on your white background where it takes on far more significance for some Ying Yang reason. Innovative work and it just shows what can be discovered by throwing off the conventional restrictions. AG @ 2006-May-18 15:43
Very creative! I like the grey background, myself - I find the white pushes the blacks together too much. I love the texture in the background and the inky feel (which is only interrupted by the slight highlight on that bottom branch). chris @ 2006-May-18 19:24
it's good for a poster in a restaurant or something... Marius Muscalu @ 2006-May-18 20:41
